 What's Your Journey? Production

On the 3rd of March, Saul and I took part in the first photo shoot for 'What's Your Journey?'. Ironically, the first photos taken are of the last/right picture that shows the end of the journey I'm trying to portray in the advert. This photo shows Saul holding up the camera to take a picture in front of the college. in other photos he will be holding the camera lower and as the pictures progress the camera gets closer and closer to his face. In this photo, I decided it would make sense for Saul to wear his lanyard as it makes sense with the storyline as he is making his way to college as it's supposed to be a daily journey. I took both landscape and portrait photos to have more variety and I zoomed slowly out after every shot for the same reason. In total, I took 12 photos this time and I plan on shooting the same amount in the shoots so I should have 36 photos to select from by the end. Below are examples of the shots taken.

After taking these photos, I had to check the quality of the photos so I could find the best photo to use. I selected the one below as I liked how central Saul was and the portrait was the best to keep in line with the flat plan design. Not only this but how the background is out of focus as Saul holds the camera allowing it to have a centre stage is a big part of why I chose this photo for the final product.

The second day of shooting was very tense. We shot all the remaining photos on the 5th of March as we could not shoot on the weekend because I had lost my SD card on Saturday and Saul had to look after his sister on Sunday, leaving us with no choice but to shoot on the following Monday. So after we both got into college the both of us immediately left to go to the shooting locations in South Hylton. Saul did have to change hoodies on the way over so there would be continuity between the pictures. The first photos taken on the day were of the second/middle photo of the flat plan below are examples of the photos and some behind-the-scenes footage of the production.

Behind The Scenes Footage

As previously mentioned, I used the photo I had chosen for the final product on the first shooting day as a guide for wanted for not only this shot but the last photos for the first/left picture on the flat plan. I tried to aim just above Saul's waist and get him as central as possible in the lens so there are no drastic placement changes from photo to photo. Next was the shooting of the left/first photo in the flat plan and below is a behind-the-scenes video and some shots.
