Production Technical Skills Development

This video was made as a showcase of cinematography techniques as well as an experiment with transitions and audio. I learned how to set up a tripod and a dolly which initially confused me but I'm glad I did as it will be important I know how to use these two things as the course goes on. Another thing that helped a lot as I timed one of the transitions with the music so as the audio comes to a drop the video would transition to black and when the music comes back so would the visuals.
I also learned how to add intro and outro cards with text. Finally, the last thing I learned while making this video was how to upload the video up to YouTube as I had to export the file from Premier Pro to Media Encoder so that YouTube would accept the video.

  THE COWBOY SHOOTOUT

On Tuesday in groups of four, we all produced a side-project based on western movies like 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' and 'Django Unchained'. During the production, we tried to utilize such shots typical to that genre of film the most famous examples are 'The Cowboy Shot' and 'Extreme Close Ups'. Both were used in the final products to pay homage and add the necessary tension for the scene to workAnother way that we displayed tension was by using a handheld shot when Leo crawled to the wheelchair after being shot by Stephen. Another way we paid homage to the western genre was the non-diegetic music we selected during the editing for the production that plays in the background for the full 40-second duration of the video, as well as other diegetic sounds we added in the editing such as the gunshots, the screams, and the explosion at the very end of the video.
